Lead generation

Lead generation tools for the introductions you make in person

Most lead generation tools work on strangers who found you online. This one works on the people already standing in front of you — and gets them into the same CRM.

"Lead generation tool" usually means software that finds or attracts people who have never met you: ad platforms, landing page builders, form widgets, email sequencers, data providers that sell you contact records. Those are real categories and they do a job this does not. Anexus Connect belongs to a narrower, less crowded part of the same problem — turning an introduction that already happened into a qualified record in your pipeline, without anyone typing anything. If your leads arrive at trade shows, on site visits, at the counter, in the chair or across a table, that is the gap in most lead generation stacks, and it is the one this fills.

What most lead generation tools do, and where they stop

The familiar stack has four layers. Attraction tools bring strangers to a page — ads, SEO, content. Conversion tools turn a visit into a record: landing page builders, pop-up forms, chat widgets. Enrichment and data tools buy or infer the rest of the record. Nurture tools then work that record over weeks with email sequences and scoring. Every layer assumes the same starting point: the person is online, anonymous, and has not met you.

None of that helps at four in the afternoon on the second day of a trade show, when someone with real budget has just spent six minutes at your stand and is about to walk away. At that moment the most sophisticated lead generation stack in the company is a phone in your pocket and a stack of cards in a tote bag. The lead was generated — the tooling simply was not there to catch it.

What an in-person lead generation tool has to do (and what B2B lead generation software usually skips)

In person lead generation has four requirements, and most lead generation software sold for this only meets the first. It has to capture without typing, because a rep with a coffee in one hand will not fill in a form. It has to qualify, which means asking the one question that decides whether this is real — not just harvesting a name and an email. It has to hold the context, because a contact with no note is indistinguishable from every other contact three weeks later. And it has to route into the CRM the business already runs, or it becomes another list nobody reconciles.

Anexus Connect does those four with a card, a profile and a form you shape yourself: the visitor taps or scans, fills in the fields you chose, and the record is created with the source, the date, your note and a priority you set on the spot — then syncs natively into HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho and six other CRMs on PRO. The paper cards other people hand you go in through the OCR scanner into the same list.

Where this sits next to the tools you already pay for

It is not a replacement for a CRM, and it is not trying to be. It feeds one. It is also not an outbound prospecting tool: it will not build a list of companies matching a firmographic filter, it will not send cold email sequences, and it does not sell contact data. If those are what you need, the tools that do them are genuinely better at it, and the honest advice is to buy one of those instead.

What it replaces is the manual step between a real conversation and the CRM — the pile of cards, the notes app, the spreadsheet somebody exports on Sunday night. For businesses whose pipeline is genuinely built in rooms rather than inboxes, that step is where most of the leakage happens, and it is rarely anybody's software budget line.

How to judge one

Four questions cut through most of the marketing. Does the other person have to install anything — because if they do, the tool fails at a busy stand. Can you change what the form asks, or are you stuck with name and email. Does the record reach your CRM by itself, or does someone export a CSV. And does it keep working after the event, or is it licensed per show. A tool that answers those four well will beat a longer feature list every time.

Cards and plans

Frequently asked

Is a digital business card really a lead generation tool?

It is one for in-person lead generation specifically. The test is whether it produces qualified records in your pipeline that would not otherwise exist, and a card with a capture form, an AI agent and CRM sync does exactly that for conversations that happen face to face. It is not a lead generation tool in the outbound-prospecting sense, and we would not claim otherwise.

How does this compare to HubSpot, Apollo or a form builder?

They solve a different part of the funnel and mostly they sit downstream or upstream of this rather than against it. HubSpot is the CRM this syncs into. Apollo and similar tools build outbound lists, which this does not do. Form builders capture on your website; this captures in a room. Most businesses that buy Anexus keep all of those.

What kind of lead generation does this NOT do?

It does not buy or sell contact data, build prospect lists from firmographic filters, send cold email or SMS campaigns, run ads, or score leads automatically. There is no lead marketplace and no data enrichment. Everything it captures comes from someone who chose to give it to you.

Is there a free lead generation tool here?

Yes. The free Basic plan includes the live profile, the capture form, the mini CRM with notes and reminders, appointment booking and the AI agent, with no per-lead or per-scan charge. PRO adds native CRM sync, AI-drafted follow-ups and visitor translation. A physical card is a one-time purchase and is not required to start.

Which businesses get the most out of it?

Ones whose pipeline is built face to face: exhibitors and event teams, field sales, trades and contractors quoting on site, clinics and salons, brokers and advisors, recruiters, and any business where the first real conversation happens in person rather than through a web form.
